Walter A. Kudzodzi

With mass communications degrees and certificates from the International Institute of Journalism, (Berlin – Germany, 2005), the Thomson Foundation, (Cardiff – United Kingdom, 2004) and the School of Communication Studies, University of Ghana (Legon – Ghana, 1997), Walter A. “Papito” Kudzodzi is a seasoned Ghanaian Journalist. He has a twenty-year working experience with both the local Ghanaian media scene as well as with a number of international media organisations such as the UN IRIN, BBC and Reuters and Dow Jones Newswires.

Until January 2014, he managed the public affairs and media portfolio as well as the main small grants development program that covered nine West African countries for the Australian High Commission, Ghana. He has also built up quite an expansive experience dealing with foreign film and documentary makers since 2002 as a fixer and location co-ordinator in Ghana for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) various Japanese Television networks through independent production companies, Swiss TV, CAPA Presse TV-FRANCE and NTV-Germany among others.

The highlight of this experience was being in charge of the Ghana leg of the Sir Bob Geldof in Africa documentary production for the BBC. Part of his extensive experience also spans the advertising industry completing jobs that are relevant to media management, media services and public relations consultancies. From July 2013 to August 2016, he successfully concluded a two year contract as PR Lead, Ghana for Brand Communications Ltd, an international Advertising, PR and Creative Design Agency with offices in London, Accra, Abidjan and Lagos managing diverse portfolio of key client accounts spanning various sectors.

He has been responsible for content aggregation for the websites and social media platforms of the companies he has worked with previously as well as the publication of e-newsletters, a novelty that was developed during his stint with Brand Communications. He continues to provide media and PR consultancy services to a select clientele base depending on his availability.
